Description: The Persian Language, Linguistics, and Culture Program is an exciting initiative made possible through a grant and in partner-ship with Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute. This Fellowship program supports students at the University of Hawaii in their study of Persian language and culture. Several Fellowships are available each year and are made possible through a grant from Roshan Cultural Heritage In-stitute.
Purpose: The purpose of this fellowship is to support students pursuing the study of Persian Language at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Funds are intended to be used for any educational costs related to study of Persian, including but not limited to: tuition, books, fees, and costs for research and/or travel.
Eligibility Criteria and Requirements for Roshan Institute Fellowships in Persian Language and Culture:
–Applicants must be full-time or part-time, undergraduate or graduate students, enrolled in any area of study at any campus within
the University of Hawaii System.
–Applicants must be enrolled in a UHM Persian course during the semester the award is received.
–Applicants must demonstrate satisfactory academic achievement and provide a copy of current college transcripts.
–Financial need will be considered, not necessarily determined by federal guidelines.
–Applicants cannot have received prior support from Roshan Cultural Heritage Institute.
–Applicants must submit two current letters of reference.
–Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining their commitment to the study of Persian culture/language.
