Iranian New Year’s Day (Noruz)
Noruz is the first day of the Iranian calendar and the most important Iranian celebration of the year. It is celebrated on March equinox, the precise astronomical start of spring.
This year at University of Hawaii at Manoa, we will celebrate Noruz, sharing some information about this ancient Iranian tradition and reading Persian poetry. A light traditional meal, nuts, and cookies will be served.
